The government's 'How to Rent' guide provides information for landlords and property agents about their rights and responsibilities when letting out a property. The most recent version which was published in early August 2019 is now out of date and it is vital that landlords serve their tenants with the most up-to-date version. If a tenant was ever to create a legal case against a landlord, the landlord must prove the document has been provided to the tenant. The guide can be served in hard copy format or - with the consent of the tenant - via email in PDF form.
